A Passion for Providing Optimal Patient Care

Dr. Rivera earned her Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from Stony Brook University and her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Sports Studies with a minor in Psychology from Rutgers University. While attending Rutgers, Amelia was a James Dickson Carr Merit Scholarship recipient and swam for the Rutgers Swimming and Diving Team where she received Big East Academic All-American Honors.

Sports Rehabilitation and Orthopedic Physical Therapy Focused

Throughout her career, Amelia’s main passion has been focused around sports rehabilitation and orthopedic physical therapy. With her athletic background, Amelia enjoys working with the athletic population with an emphasis on the endurance athlete and post-operative return to sport. Her passion for providing optimal patient care has motivated Amelia to cultivate her manual skills as she is working towards becoming a Certified Full Body Active Release Technique Provider.

Amelia has volunteered for the NYC Marathon, NYC Triathlon and is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Amelia completed her first Ironman in 2014 and qualified for the 2017 USA Triathlon Age-Group National Championships. Amelia continues to compete in various triathlons, marathons and endurance races.
